Action Plan for WebCT Phase Out

The deadline is July 15, 2012 for instructors currently using WebCT to transition to Blackboard Learn. The transition applies to instructors using WebCT as their current Learning Management System or as a platform to store course files. CELT offers the following options to assist instructors with the transition process:

• Visit: Preparing Your WebCT Course for Migration to Bb Learn
• Attend the Converting Your Course from WebCT to Bb Learn Workshop. Workshops are offered on April 11 @ 12:10 pm, April 19 @ 11:00 am, OR May 8 @ 10:00 am. (Please register in advance online)

Additional Reminders

• Student access to WebCT as a teaching and learning tool will no longer be available starting on June 1, 2012. This change is permanent.
• Instructor access to WebCT will be allowed for transition of content to Blackboard Learn until July 15, 2012. This change is permanent. Access to WebCT following the deadline will be considered on a case by case basis (for Instructors only).
• The phase out of WebCT at ISU is necessary because the product will no longer be supported by Blackboard, Inc. Blackboard, Inc. acquired WebCT in 2005 and has committed itself to incorporating the best features and functionality of WebCT into upcoming updates of the Blackboard Learn platform.
